Who I am

My career has been shaped by early roots in Fiji, formative leadership experiences in Zimbabwe, and over 30 years of global responsibility in commodities trading. I thrive in complex, high-stakes environments where success depends on integrity, negotiation, and cultural awareness.

At Cargill International in Geneva, I managed the trading and shipping of more than two million tonnes annually of wheat, corn, and oilseeds from global origins into the MENA/GCC markets. This required not only deep expertise in commodities trading, risk management, supply chain & logistics, and agricultural economics, but also trusted relationships with governments and private buyers across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Yemen, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria.

Earlier in my career, I served as Managing Director of Cargill Zimbabwe, where I led operations through political turbulence and hyperinflation. In that role, I pioneered the Cargill Zimbabwe Bearer Cheques — the first non-government paper money issued in Southern Africa since the Boer War — an innovation that safeguarded employees, stabilized business continuity, and earned me the Cargill Chairman’s Award for Innovation.
I also managed acquisitions, developed African cotton trading, and served as an ICA arbitrator, strengthening my background in dispute resolution and arbitration.
